Ice Fishing 101
If there is anything basic to ice fishing that is very important
for you to understand it is this. Light is not
reflected by waves and the water is clearer, so movement
above the ice is more easily detected and as a result the fish
are much more wary than on most open water days where the
waves inhibit light. Early morning and evening
low light periods normally have the best bite. Also, get away
from the crowd and keep your movement above ice to a minimum. Drill
several holes that you think you will use and then let some time pass.
Lised below are the primary fish sought after in
the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and some methods recommend for catching
them.
