Fished Big Lake Manistique 2-23 and 2-24, 5:00 pm til dark. 14 walleye, 2
northern and a few perch - all keepers, a lot of knockoffs as well. 6 fow,
tip ups with minnows, nw corner of lake by the islands, 200 yds offshore.

I fished Brevort Lake from Feb 7-12. I had 3 walleyes on but only landed one.
The one I landed was 27 1/2 inches and 8.2 lbs. I caught some nice perch in
the 7-12 inch range. Couple nice meals out of the vacation. Now just waiting
for the ciscoes to start running. Oh yeah my uncle who I was fishing with
also got a 28 inch 6.5 lb walleye out of the same hole as I got mine. He caught
his two days later.

Gary Dudeck from the River Bend Resort in Detour reports nice catches of Perch
in the
14 inch range on Munoscong Bay. Some nice walleyes too. With this onset of
cold weather the ice is getting nearly 12 inches now. For some great ice fishing

Fish and Hunt Shop from Curtis reports on Soth and Big Manistique Lakes. doing
well on walleye in the bays. Caution---the middle of both lakes is still open
which pretty much negates the perch fishing. Good Pike on tip-ups. Walleyes

Gentleman from Grand Rapids reporting fishing Brevort Lake last week. Good Fishing for Perch and Bluegill. 4-5 inches of ice.

I recently just got back from curtis and there is still open water in
the middle of the lake but the bays have a good 4 inches on them and we did really good on walleye off the Wolfe Bay boat launch.. we limited out 2 days in a row and caught 4 30 inch pluss walleyes.. we were using chartruse jigs with a shiner ini about 8 -9 feet of water.most of the action at night..thought I would help you out with a report from curtis.

Nothing to report as the larger lakes still have open water.
We are working on finding a source for eastern UP reports and will get some going asap.

Report from the Fish and Hunt Shop is Curtis: South Manistique Lake in Curtis still has open water. Larger lakes are not safe.
